My First Guitar Cover

My First Guitar Cover on YouTube and The Story Behind It

Today I've just posted my very first guitar cover on YouTube where I played "Blackbirds" by The Beatles. Before I've tried to do a cover on "For The Dancing And The Dreaming" from How To Train Your Dragon, but I had to record it over and over again due to minor mistakes, until I eventually decided to give up on that for now. The reason I chose Blackbirds was because it was one of the very first songs I learned to play on the guitar when I just started practicing around the beginning of last year, so it has stuck with me for quite some time.

Since this is first time doing guitar cover for YouTube, I felt very nervous. I felt different from when I'm just playing normally. Usually I would play for fun or just to kill time but now, I'm being recorded and I'm gonna upload it on a global platform that almost every one on earth watches. While recording the video I thought, "what if I make a mistake playing?", "I'm just a newbie and there are A LOT of other guitarists out there who are better than me".  When you're playing a musical instrument, you want it to be perfect, you want it to be smooth and flawless so that you can at least have a chance against those other great guitarists.

To be honest, I've thought of doing a guitar cover for some time. But I've always kept thinking that it would be very tiring and that it wouldn't get a lot of views. When I talked about this to my dad he said, "what do you think those great guitarists like Sungha Jung and Paul McCartney start as?". This thought served as somewhat of a support for me. And so I arrive here today with my first cover. I plan on committing to upload at least one guitar cover and one blog every week, as I have never done before.

I hope that those of you who have read this blog would care to subscribe to my channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC99JzBlyxvdM0nFoZ2cBOng?view_as=subscriber.

I aim to grow my channel and I will share the reason behind this on my next blog.

Good day to you all, Stay home stay safe, and God Bless
